This is a beautifully shot video, I love the softly focused B&W, and it is catchy musically. And while I can appreciate the sentiment, the leave us alone and let us live in the country attitude, somehow I smell danger. My fears were confirmed when the confederate stars and bars belt buckle appeared. Somehow I can't help but doubt the live and let live feelings would be extended to black people and gay people; men in turbans and women wearing head scarves. Yes, terrible crimes happen in the big bad city, but Matthew Shepard died on a lonely country road. Could this singer be moved to write a ballad about his torture and murder?
